Actor Slate is the first product we created in association with Breakdown Services, the largest communications network generating casting information to both actors and talent representatives, covering all of North America. Actor Slates were developed with Breakdown Services cooperation as the means to 'deliver' the slates to talent agencies, casting directors, producers and directors. Our collaboration resulted in a way of presenting a 'general interview' to important decision makers, including casting directors, in a manner that was both informative and entertaining for the viewer and resulted in helping the actor get through the proverbial 'casting door'.
Actor Slates were an instant hit with casting directors when first introduced in 2004 and continue to be a prime motivator for casting directors to bring in new talent.
So, an Actor Slate is a videotaped and edited “General Interview”, 60 seconds in length, available instantly on demand over the Breakdown Services and Actors Access worldwide networks. The service is presently available in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago and is being rolled out to other cities in the US and throughout the world in 2008 and 2009.
